I completely agree with Lorin. Wave can just as easily be abused and misused as any other medium - plus you can create useless and difficult to navigate content in real time! However, if we set some ground rules/usage suggestions, it'll work well.

IMHO Wave pages get extremely messy, disorganized and laggy very quickly. +1 for IRC on Freenode, there are archival bots available if logging is really necessary.
