Rick, this is a bug. We were meaning to ship the Geronimo JTA. They are identical (Geronimo Manifests are OSGi friendlier) but it seems our release process pulled in the old Sun JTA dependency. We will do a "5 Why's" on that and fix it ASAP! http://venturehacks.com/articles/five-whys
