hi, had the same problem yesterday, but it was a configuration error,
see also http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-526
i guess the reason, why it generates a different target (target-eclipse)
is to avoid collisions with the command line maven.

When using m2eclipse, a target-eclipse directory is created that
contains the compiled classes,test-classes, reports, etc... Even if I
delete this directory and set my output folder to "target", this
directory keeps getting re-created. How do I turn this off? And why is
a target-eclipse directory being created in the first place instead of
using target as the default output directory?
Thanks,
