Maven 2.0.9 fixed dependencies ordering when resolving: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1412 Maven 2.1-SNAPSHOT in m2eclipse contains the fix too.
This can explain some change between Maven 2.0.8 and 2.0.9.
