Now that we can materialize from SCM, I might change my habbits, but the typical steps I follow to get a project into my workspace is to do an Eclipse "Import" from SVN as a simple project, followed by "Enable dependency management" with the maven plugin -- this turns on the java nature and the maven nature. Following these steps also requires that you do an "Update Source Folders" as well. Is there a reason update sources doesn't happen as part of the enabling of the plugin?
