Hello, Mhamed,
As Jason already mentioned, m2e is currently in the process of moving to
eclipse.org, but currently you can use either this user-list or m2e
newsgroup [1] to discuss tycho. You can use m2e JIRA [2] to submit tycho
bug reports and feature requests under component "Tycho". You can read
about long term tycho goals, what is available now and what we plan next
in my recent email to this list [3].
It is also worth mentioning, that originally tycho developed by Tom
Huybrechts as codehaus.org project but relatively recently the code and
active development have moved to sonatype.org. I try to document new
features we add to tycho in [4], but unfortunately there is not much
information about the features available in the original code.
There are also step-by-step instructions on how to do "Hello, World"
kind of Tycho build in [5]. I recommend trying this project first.
It would be helpful if you could provide some high-level description of
your project structure and what you're trying to achieve with tycho .
Now to your specific question. We are planning to remove
synchronize-plugin-pom goal in faviour of more dynamic dependency
calculation, but I cannot be more specific without at least high level
understanding of your project structure and what you expect tycho to do
(you can direct email this info, if you prefer).

Tycho is part of m2eclipse which itself is moving to eclipse.org.

your questions there.
Hello Jason,
we are a team of Java developers. We are developing Eclipse plugins
and want to build them with Maven.
We are interested in your TYCHO project which seems to be the most
promising project today. Thanks for your work!
During evaluation we run into some problems. It would be great if you
could help us regarding these subjects:
- What kind of license is applied to your TYCHO project ?
- What is the official website of your project ? Do you host any other
sites beside:
_http://docs.codehaus.org/display/M2ECLIPSE/Tycho+project+scope+and+planned+feature+list_
- Does your Tycho project already provide a mailing list, bug tracking
or discussion forum for additional questions ?
Further questions regarding usage of your maven plugin:
- We used this command to build our pom.xml:
mvn org.codehaus.tycho:maven-tycho-plugin synchronize-plugin-pom
-DtargetPlatform=j:\fresh\eclipse
We noticed that we have to copy all our own plugins to the used
Eclipse target platform (j:\fresh\eclipse\) to be able to resolve all
necessary plugin dependencies. For instance: PluginB depends on
PluginA. If we want to create the pom.xml of PluginB then we have to
copy the PluginA.jar to the Eclipse target platform before running the
command mentioned above. Is there any other way to create the desired
pom.xml without copying PluginA to the target platform ?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards
Mhamed
