Below are notes from today's #MesosCon <http://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/mesoscon> program committee meeting. Dave 06/12/2014 Attendees: Dave Lester, Vinod Kone, Benjamin Hindman, Isabel Jimenez, Timothy St Clair, Chris Aniszczyk, Matt Trifiro Attendee/registration Update We saw a large spike in registration following last Wednesday’s LinuxCon+CloudOpen announcement made by the Linux Foundation. As of last Friday, 82 LinuxCon add-on registrants for MesosCon, and 13 MesosCon registrants (does not include speakers). There was discussion about how a large number of LinuxCon attendees who have registered may shape the event; we may reserve a specific number of spots just for MesosCon attendees. Action item: Dave will send out email reminder to Mesos user@ list on Monday, encouraging folks to register. Schedule Update The MesosCon schedule now online: http://mesoscon14.sched.org/?iframe=no There was continued discussion about whether there should be a parallel workshop the first morning of MesosCon for advanced users. Action item: Dave will follow-up regarding space for second workshop. Coordinated PR MesosCon blog post went live on the Mesos website on Wednesday Initial outreach was made to Apache Spark and Storm via their user@ mailing lists, encouraging people to register and attend MesosCon. Program committee will continue to divide and conquer get the word out. Linux Foundation will be publishing a blog post about MesosCon in the future to help promote the event. Discussion regarding need for coordinated PR leading up to the event; a small subset of the committee including Matt and Dave will discuss further and report back to the group in upcoming weeks.
