I am actually about to do the same, over the next month or so, I wrote a
general article a few MWSs ago about it (#48)...my understanding was that
there was a script which would ap out your current db and make the changes
nec. to run 1.4, adding blob support, snippets etc.etc....is that still a go

I think you misunderstood. :)

Is it as easy as just dumping info out of the database and reloading
it on the computer that will be running 1.4?

(I'm planning on setting up a new web server that will have 1.4 on it.)
