When trying to compile midgard-php4, I am getting the following error:

What is "lex"? I also don't understand this INSTALL instruction:
1 - To install midgard php4-module, you'll first need to have the
version
4.0.4 of PHP, as well as the matching php-devel package (or install
PHP 4.0.4 from source).
Well, I use Apache/1.3.19 (Unix) and php 4.0.4pl1, but I I could not
find a "php-devel" package. The documentation of the latest php source
(php-4.0.4pl1.tar.gz) does not contain anything of this name ...
(Distribution is suse. 7.1)
