Asgard is a somewhat daunting application for your first steps with
Midgard.

True, but the documentation work can easily be segmented in work that
keeps the manual technically correct (which is work for the
developers) and the work that keeps it useful (readable, illustrative,
etc) to the actual reader. The latter doesn't need (and indeed, may
explicitly not need) a techie.
