Hi, > (See attached file: config.log)
Done. > the log says that cant find glib which is installed sure, in my config it says cant find libmysql, thats not the error. > i ve modified the configure file removed the line > do I need to remove the whole line or the extra -l Hey, my english is not quit perfect, but didn't i say "looks like"? and that there is an extra "-l" So, lets look at your config.log's last lines: configure:2568: checking for executable suffix configure:2578: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -I/usr/local/lib/glib/include -I/usr/local/include conftest.c -l -L/usr/local/lib -lglib 1>&5 /usr/libexec/elf/ld: cannot find -l--library=glib 3rd line, an empty extra -l between configtest.c and -L/usr, you see? So, thats the error, the extra -l . And as i said bevor: > So, search for LIBS="-l $LIBS" in the configure script and delete the whole > line. You also can delete only the -l but $LIBS=$LIBS doesnt make sense to me, you perhaps can write TRUE at that point. So, feel free to delete only -l or the complete line ( there are two of them). and than let it run, after building that midgard.so check if all libs are found "ldd midgard.so" ! regards Martin -- mailto: `echo [EMAIL PROTECTED] | sed 's/[NOSPAM]//g'` ---------------------------------------------------------------- Those who can't write, write manuals. ---------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Martin > > Hierling To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: > > pe.de> Subject: Re: [midgard-user] php4 mkall >issues > > > 28/09/2001 > > 13:12 > > Please respond > > to user > > > > > > > > > > OK, > > thats an different error. > > try sh -x ./configure --with-midgard > > Have a look in config.log, last 3 or 5 lines, ther should be someting like: > configure:2553: checking for executable suffix > configure:2563: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -I/opt/glib-1.2.10/include/glib-1.2 > -I/opt/glib-1.2.10/lib/glib/include -I/usr/local/include/mysql > -I/usr/local/include -I/opt/midgard-1.4.2/include > -I/opt/apache-1.3.20/include conftest.c -l -L/opt/midgard-1.4.2/lib > -L/opt/local/lib -R/opt/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib -lmysqlclient > -L/usr/local/lib -lexpat -lsocket -lnsl -lm -lz -L/opt/glib-1.2.10/lib > -lglib -lmidgard 1>&5 > ld: fatal: library -l-lmysqlclient: not found > ld: fatal: File processing errors.
