Technically, nothing wrong with 4.0.5 that isn't inherent to Zend. But we've seen significant Zend API changes from 401pl1 to 403, to 404, to 405 to 406 and we decided to stop backpatching everytime the mood struck these guys to break their API. 4.0.6 and later stand a decent chance of being stable.
