Hello. I'm new to this group and did conduct a few searches for which I didn't get any results.
I'm wondering if anyone has installed Midgard on a system using PSA (Plesk Server Administrator) http://www.plesk.com It's a web administration system for managing web/ftp/email customer's sites. It's "server management" and now I'm looking for "content management". Came across Midgard and Aegir and I really like what I see. I use PHP for a lot of projects and hope to be able to dive right into development on these platforms. My Plesk install is a basically stock RedHat 7.3 with all udpates and patches from them installed and PSA 5.0.5 Plesk replaces the stock email server with QMail and the POP3/IMAP server but mostly leaves Apache, PHP, and MySQL as-is. The Apache httpd.conf is changed slightly with an Include line at the very end to include the Plesk generated configs. When you log onto their admin client and add a new client it recreates this httpd.include entirely from a database. A per-virtual-host config file of vhost.conf can be defined and I added "MidgardEngine On" and other such Apache information in this file which subsequently gets included within the <VirtualHost> section. Seems more complicated than it is. Anyway, I preferred the instructions on Aegir's site and was following them. Mighty fine installation instructions I might add! All the installation steps flow through perfectly, they actually tested these out unlike most things I download and try to install. Anyway, I get to the end where all should be well but surfing to site.com/asgard does not work. I got it to the point that it brought up a user/pass request which I entered then after a small pause got a 404 screen. Any suggestions or ideas? Tomorrow I'll try this on a clean RH 7.3 system without PSA installed. I'll try working backwards from there and try to get it going on the PSA box if I have success there. Ultimately a system where I setup a new domain for a client with Plesk, add some emails and other things... Then add a "site" in Midgard/Aegir for them to use would be great. Here's hoping it will be doable...
