As you know, with Open Source it is just about priorities. I'm
just a bit tied up with paying clients at the moment, and they
of course take precedence over any generic Midgard work.

However, I've been thinking about this lately. While Midgard
is a very nice content management framework, we have previously
sucked in the "whole product" aspect. All kinds of modules,
libraries and applications are out there, but it takes quite
much knowledge and work to bundle them together into a working
website.

Midgard could and should be more useful out of the box. We
should gather together a real "sample site", maybe built on
MidCOM, that would combine many of these modules in a sensible
way.

In essence, the sample site should be a production-ready
website/portal/intranet, where you just need to add your
logo (or layout), and write the real content.

I think it wouldn't even require much effort, and would make
Midgard a much better alternative to all those who want to
get something working quickly instead of developing a big
project from ground up.

Something for Midgard 1.5?

Who would be interested in helping me with this process?

We should actually develop this "sample site" using CVS
and rest of regular Midgard app development methodologies,
so it would also get maintained (unlike all the current
example stuff)...
