Yes, I did read that reply.  The browser accepts cookies (tried with
both Konqueror and Mozilla 1.3.  And Eero is right: there is no error
output from the auth module.

Yep, the password in the database is "**password" and when I try to log
in, I use "password" (without quotes of course).

I'm really not sure what's going on.
