I have a production webserver which I'm going to be putting CMS sites on, but it doesn't have any Midgard sites on it yet so I am free to nuke my install if it doesn't work. So I start with a clean slate, do dbinstall from midgard-data, install Aegir and make the appropriate changes to the database so I can get into the Aegir admin screens.

So far, so good.

I import midcom.xml using repligard. I can now see the midcom snippets.

So far, so good.

Then I import midcom-template.xml. The imported data goes into the database and I can see it using the MySQL client, but it doesn't show up in Aegir. So I manually put a host record into the database, and enter the id of the midcom_template page as my root. That makes it show up in Aegir, and I can browse to the page. But when it says the AIS topic isn't set up and offers a link to click, I click the link and end up on a blank page.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to specify a sitegroup and use the repligard_withsg schema? I tried that, and tried logging in as siteadmin+SG0, siteadmin*SG0, and siteadmin*System Administrator (siteadmin is the username of the admin user, and SG0 is the only sitegroup I currently have set up) - but when I tried to use that username and the correct password, using repligard_withsg, I just got a "Can't log into database" message from Repligard.

Suggestions? I know I am >< this close to getting Midcom actually working.

Thanks,
  Steve
