Well, kind of. You shouldn't. MidCOM is a component framework and there
are a bunch of components for it. These components can store their data
as Articles, that's right. But this is not mandatory, a component could
also store data in files or a database. That's what that component thing
is about, you don't have to deal with the storage, you just use it.
For de.linkm.taviewer (as one of the first components MidCOM had), you
have good chances with Aegir. However, MidCOM's storage backend allows
to store much more data in an Article than there are fields, i.e. by
using Article Attachments as data storage. This works completely
transparent in MidCOM, but if you try to edit these Attachments, you'll
see it's not fun at all...

There is (and has always been) a configuration parameter to change the
sort order. In the latest version (which you can get from Midgard CVS)
this component has a nice configuration frontend in AIS, you can switch
the default sort_order ("reverse created" or "created", don't know by
heart now) to something like "name". It's that easy. ;-)

I'm not much into Nemein_Authentication, but I guess you can get
information about the user that's currently logged in ($midgard->user,
mgd_get_person, ...). What data would you like to access exactly?

Sorry, I have no ide about that.
