Hi,

Thanks for the advice Tony.

" You have to do some more homework >before expecting any volunteer group to help you."
Point taken, I've done a lot of investigation into some CMS'es while I've done very little with say this one :).

" >And I'm not quit sure what you mean by: >dynamically generated code for members,"
Lol, sorry thats just badly worded. I think all CMS systems support what I mean....
What I mean to say was dynamically generated HTML, which is created by PHP when you access databases.

eg. like a portal page....

Thanks for the reply.

Regards,
Gareth

So I was wondering whether phpnuke is appropriate to this situation?

Dear Guru,

You'd probably get a better response from the 'Midgard' mailing list if your questions where tailored toward specific issues related to this project.

Okay, so you meant to send this form letter to phpnuke and forgot to change the name. Even still... You have to do some more homework before expecting any volunteer group to help you.

Midgard is a Content Management Framework. ie. A tool kit for building CMS solutions. Sub projects of Midgard like Aegir and MidCOM provide a lot of the functionality you are looking for. The end user experience ideally requires very little technical knowledge but setting up and administering the system inversely requires an advanced knowledge web development. PHPNuke etc. is probably more suitable for newbie/hobby developers.

No native Midgard projects currently includes:
forum systems,
mailing lists,

There is limited support for:
a calendar/event organizing system

RSS is fully available.

XHTML still depends on the WYSIWIG editor so is less than 100% supported.

And I'm not quit sure what you mean by:
dynamically generated code for members,

Regards
