Got it running on two machines....
Unfortunately SuSE does not setup Midgard completley.
If you can wait till tomorrow(?) I'll write an short introduction to Midgard
on SuSE 9.0....
Basic steps (I am writing from memory now)
1. Make sure that the location of your blob directory in
/etc/midgard/repligard.conf (or /etc/midgard/repligard-install.conf) and
/etc/httpd/midgard.conf point both to "/var/lib/wwwrun/blob"
2. Download latest Asgard or Aegir Webinterface (SuSE delivers an old
version) from the Midgard site. I'd recommend Aegir
3. install the Aegir dir files (var/lib/aegir) as mentioned on the Midgard
(http://www.midgard-project.org/documentation/installation/aegir) Site,
notice however that apache on SuSE 9.0 runs with user "wwwrun" and
group "www".
4. import Aegir with repligard -c /etc/midgard/repligard.conf -a -i
Aegir.xml.gz
5. edit php.ini, set "register_globals = On" and "magic_quotes_runtime
= Off" (For security reason see hint mentioned on http://www.midgard-
project.org/documentation/installation/aegir regarding register_globals)
6. use phpmyadmin or mysql command line to change the port of
Aegir. You'll find one line pointing to /aegir on port 80 and another for
/attachment/0 pointing to 80 as well. Change both to port 8099
7. Restart Apache (rcapache -restart)
9. point your browser to localhost:8099/aegir
10. login with "admin" and "password", change the admin password
If you are working on a network you should change localhost to a valid
IP-Address and protect your mysql database.
