Hi
Just been trying to build the 1.6 beta on my laptop and although everything appears to have been installed ok - datagard is great! when I try and access the virtualhost I created I just keep getting a not found and the apache log is telling me that the database is undefined:
[Sat Jun 12 16:18:46 2004] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Midgard: database not defined for localhost
The first vhost I created was www.habbers.com:8001/ and the config file that datagard produced for this was:
<VirtualHost www.habbers.com:8001> ServerName www.habbers.com DocumentRoot /var/local/lib/midgard/vhosts/www.habbers.com/8001 MidgardBlobDir /var/local/lib/midgard/blobs/midgard1_6 MidgardEngine on MidgardRootfile /usr/lib/apache/1.3/midgard-root-nommp.php #MidgardPageCacheDir /var/local/cache/midgard #MidgardRootFile /usr/lib/apache/1.3/midgard-root.php MidgardParser latin1 MidgardDefaultRealm "Midgard" MidgardDatabase midgard1_6 midgarddbuser p3mbmp RLimitCPU 20 60 RLimitMem 67108864 134217728 </VirtualHost>
The host table looks fine:
| 1 | www.habbers.com | 4 | 2 | | 0 | 8001 | 1 |
| /aegir | 0 | 0 | 2 | www.habbers.com |
| 18 | 3 | | 0 | 8001 | 1 | /attachment/0 | | 0 | 0 |
| 3 | www.habbers.com | 51 | 4 | auth | 0 | 8001 | 1 |
| /spider-admin | 0 | 0 | 4 | www.habbers.com |
| 64 | 6 | auth | 0 | 8001 | 1 |
| /spider-admin/attachment/0 | 0 | 0 |
I tried creating a second virtualhost and called it localhost and this time didn't chose the select database option in datagard. However although the virtual hosts file was created the entries in the host database where not. Looking in the mysql.err log file I am getting an access denied for user : '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' (Using password: NO) message.
I tried this again but this time chosing the select database option but still and entering the dbadmin user and password but I still had the same problem. Just wondering if this is the correct way to use datagard?
I tried adding MidgardLog Debug+ /var/log/midgard.log to the vhost file for the vhost that appears in the host table, but that didn't give me any more information in the apache error.log file.
Not sure where to go from here. The system is debian unstable with the latest apache 1.3 and mysql 4.0.20 packages.
Thanks for any help.
What does your localhost vhost config file look like?
To test the vhost above, you could define www.habbers.com as say 127.0.0.2 in /etc/hosts. Then if you go to http://www.habbers.com:8001/aegir/ in a browser on your notebook it should access the correct vhost.
