Greetings!
I upgraded one of my clients from Midgard 1.5.0 to Midgard 1.6.0-cvs-20040610 to gain PAM support.
The upgrade went mostly painlessly, probably because I opted for not going with MultiLang at this stage.
Midgard-core: ./configure --without-multilang make make install
Midgard-apache1: ./configure make make install
Midgard-php4 ./mkall
The only things I had to note were: * Run "ldconfig" so that the new midgard-core is found by the linker * Midgard's apache module is now midgard-apache1 instead of mod_midgard. ~ Modify httpd.conf accordingly * Choose the correct midgard-root.php file from the midgard-apache1 ~ package
After that, restart Apache and enjoy :-)
midcom-template now reports the following: <meta name="generator" content="Midgard/1.6.0-cvs-20040610 MidCOM/1.3.0+cvs.2004.05.17 PHP/4.3.4" /> <meta name="midcom.application" content="midcom-template/2004.06.03" />
As to the PAM setup, these instructions were quite sufficient for getting it to work (except that patch wasn't needed as PAM is available as default in Midgard 1.6.0): http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=midgard-user&m=108262491806203&w=2
Some additional Samba configuration stuff like correct info for /etc/krb5.conf were copied from http://midgard.tigris.org/source/browse/midgard/src/httpd/apache1/INSTALL-NTLM?rev=1.3&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup
And now the client's intranet authenticates from Active Directory. If I wanted, NTLM single-sign on could be added by just changing some configuration directives. Pretty cool ;-)
