Having overcome omissions from the installation instructions i now have the Welcome page with the congratulations that I have successfully installed the package. Hooray!!! However, just before the last bit on the instructions which proudly announces "We are done" is tells me my administrator account is set to username admin with password password. But herein lies a problem.

My welcome page boasts that I have a choice of administration packages. However, it is an empty promise as each of the links return a page not found. Unsurprising because none of the directories that are pointed to exist.

The download page announces that the interfaces are packaged in with the release (0.8.2) but, just as the guy last year, who had the same problem with a 0.8.1 release, I just cannot seem to access the interfaces. I had hoped I would find the answer in one of the replies to his post. Alas, no. it seemed as though no-one could help him.

As this problem hasn't been addressed, then my initial thought is that Midgard Lite is really a dead duck that the development team has no interest in. However, in the vague hope that it isn't, can anybody help.

So far my delving has resulted in my discovery that the interfaces are in the database. All well and good - but in order to access data one tends to need an application. I suppose that application could be Repligard - but on the other hand am not sure, because if it was, surely someone would have had the common sense to bundle it in with the download and written some instructions on how to complete the installation.

On the other hand, for all I know Repligard may need to be run using something I don't have access to. Those commands look as though I need access to something I don't have access to (I have a bog standard hosting account with an ISP). So.....

Does anybody know how to install Midgard Lite so that it is actually usable? Has anybody ever actually achieved it using a shared server managed by an ISP? Or does it need root access and somebody has forgotten to make it plain that that is a necessity (apologies if I missed it)?

Oh, by the way. Before anybody points me to the line on the Welcome page that warns me Midgard Lite is in beta state and not everything will work, I at least expected something to work. Maybe the warning should be changed to say that Midgard Lite is in beta state and nothing will work :-))

Apologies if I come over as rather cynical, but I spent many hours getting this far and I haven't got time to waste.
