Hello Adam,
...and sorry for late reply.

Yes I have the dynamic navigation setup with <navi>. Okay I've found that area and I understand now how to create, delete, edit and assign topics to the ViewerGroups. However what really confuses me in Aegir, is the fact that it provides options that are seem to be for Aegir itself instead of the site. I don't want my users to have access to Aegir. I just want the users to have access to the secure section of my site only. I've taken off all the check marks for the ViewerGroups I've created. I have created a test user and tried to login to Aegir and it appears that it will not allow'em but I still wonder if I have done this correctly and if the user account will work in my secure section of my site.
Alright, then you're all set. :)
The Aegir has bunch of "Aegir-only" access restrictions that are found both in groups and person records. If you want to deny access to Aegir, you just un-check all the checkboxes in the group "Details" and assign people to that group.
This doesn't really deny the users from trying to access Aegir but they really can't do anything in there. As far as I understood, this is what you already did - so you're fine. :)
The person records have "Power user" checkbox in the person "Details", but it is usable only for the admins - it basically gives more tools for the administrators (if un-checked parts of UI will be hidden).
So, in the end you should have: a) a group created in Aegir with all access checkboxes un-checked b) a person record assigned only to the above mentioned group c) a topic in MidCOM which is hidden with ViewerGroups setting (the above mentioned group must be selected). NOTE: Make sure you have different group for ownership! d) you need to provide some way for the user to authorize herself, you could utilize the MidCOM Template's login screen for this. e) the site layout should utilize the Template's <(navi)>
Anyways, this was just to double-check, I think you're set.
Does it sound like I've done it correctly? Do you need more info?
Sounds very much like you're done. If you're in doubt about anything else, just pop in for another q&a session. :)
Cheers!
