Double-check that you can access the Midgard DB by mysql
from the cli:
# mysql -u midgardDbUser -p midgardDbName
Inset the passwd as requested.

Datagard will ask for two (or three) user accounts:
0. MySQL admin account (if it's unable to query this account)
1. Midgard DB (MySQL) account
2. Midgard admin account (default: admin/password)

Cheers!

thanks. I have succeeded in divining the problem. It seems that my site admin account for Debian sarge is blank with a blank password. At least, I have done that, and I now get no errors.

However, It still does not work. When I go to
http://....../midgard I get an error like:
Warning: dl(): Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php4/20020429/midgard.so' - /usr/lib/php4/20020429/midgard.so: undefined symbol: compiler_globals_id in /var/cache/midgard/6-50-10-0.php on line 7

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mgd_get_midgard() in /var/cache/midgard/6-50-10-0.php on line 9

I see that this has been seen before and the answer was "rebuild the module form source".
Hmmm.. I am not clear I am qualified or know how to do that. Is there no other build/fix out there for this issue? I am sure someone else must be seeing it as I am building on a bulk standard Debian/Sarge

Thanks for oyur time,

Steve
