that a tough one.
my clients get the 4.0 if they want stability.
if they are open to bugs, and want the feature in the Trunk then that.
I freeze the trunk for testing then use commits to add features.
this is not as complicated for you, since you are just using the framework.

probably go with trunk since there are some many changes then if you
started for 4.0 you would have to rework you app if you went with the trunk.
