First of all thanks for your reply, I have specified the routing task for QA on particular product whose product type is WIP, but the problem is that WIP items are not received in inventory, only finished goods are receivable so it is not possible to set the defected status for the intermediate products
or WIP products.

You are right: WIP products are not put in warehouse and are just 'passed' as component of another production run. Why don't you just use the "QA" routing task to discard the bad items? Would this be enough?

Kind regards,

Jacopo

Secondly when Production Run is at its running stage it has
only two steps Start & Complete but how to introduce a QA process in
between.

You may want to model it as an additional task in the routing or you
can use the status of the inventory items generated by the production
run.

Hi All

Please guide how to implement the QA process in Manufacturing. Can
I QA the
WIP and Subassemblies during production run. Also need help in how
to QA the
finished good.

I'm interested in this as well. We're in the process of adding
"inspections" to products
in order to meet industry specific requirements for supply chain. I
still would not be
surprised if this capability is already in OFBiz but called something
else, but we definitely
need to make it so that incoming materials must be inspected before
they are entered into inventory, and we also need inspection of Lots,
distinct from the individual items in those Lots.

I am after this functionality also and if it isn't implemented am
interested in implementing it.
