I partially agree with your ruth. before 4.0 was release I stopped the trunk and made my own. I worked at testing and stablialising. the problem was there was no way to feed this back to the community because the trunk had advance to the ponit my fixes would not work. Now we have branches. the idea is for those that want something bug free to test it and get the bugs out. it is stable only in that fact new code is not added to it. It is bug free only to the level that it is tested and bugs reported. the developers are not interested in testing. even in big corporations like Boeing and Microsoft Testing is a whole different department. I have been involved with both.
I believe what you wish is for a "finished" product. That will never be Ofbiz, IMHO. Your right in that this is a product for a Developer to take and make something of, not of a end user to take and use.
