If I understand correctly you're talking building custom or targeted software 
based on the generic stuff in OFBiz? That sounds great, and consistent with how 
OFBiz is normally used (ie customized for a particular organization or used as 
a basis for software targeted at a particular industry).

It sounded like you might be thinking of doing an alternate generic project, 
perhaps like Opentaps or Neogia, or maybe even a redux like Moqui, so that's 
why I was asking.
