I had a quick look but I must have missed seeing the discussion chains - was 
that about using 10.04 vs 11.04? Or trunk vs latest release?

Do you know why there is a size difference between 10.04 and 11.04?

I'll check the trunk as well...

There were long discussions about which version to use...

we always use the trunk version, it is stable enough to be used and be frozen 
one month before the actual production start.

We then always suggest to upgrade every 3-6 months.....
