Until now, OpenEJB 1.0 (CVS version) couldn't start from Tomcat 5.5.x because Tomcat's StandardClassLoader changed from version 5.0 to 5.5. I've just commited a new "fix" that enabled OpenEJB 1.0 to load from Tomcat 5.5. I've testing it with Tomcat 5.0.28 and 5.5.7 and the same code works for these two versions.
I think that it may work with Tomcat 4.x versions but i couldn't test it (however the jakarta project sugests that existing user should migrate for Tomcat 5.x ;-))
