This is unfortunate. I am in extremely interested in the embedded
container for unit testing. I see this as a big opportunity to wean my
organization off of WSAD, an over-priced boon doggle. But I need some
EJB 2.x features to accomplish this, particularly MDBs.

So I guess I'll ask the next question. When will there be some kind of
release of OpenEJB 3?

Unless I'm unaware of any actions around it, I think it won't happen at
all. It means that OpenEJB 2.0 won't have the integration stuff
available and it's OpenEJB 3 that is to bring these features of OpenEJB
1 and OpenEJB 2 together.
