    Thanks for your response. The features I think I would need to
approximate what WSAD achieves for developers with its embedded
WebSphere test instance is the local container support and Tomcat
integration.

It certainly is value proposition you don't find everyday :)

OpenEJB 3 is at the starting stage now, so it's difficult to see what
kind of pace we are in just yet.  It will probably be a while before we
have something MDB related.  Interestingly, there is support for EJB 2.0
Local Interfaces in the 1.0 versions of OpenEJB.

Is there anything else you'd need from EJB 2.x other than MDBs?
