Hello Jacob,

here is the meaning of each mode:
1) user - internal OM user
2) contact - record in the user's "address book" used in auto-complete
(appointments etc.)
3) ldap - user created from LDAP record
4) soap - user is used to make calls by SOAP API
5) external - user created using SOAP API from the external system (Moodle,
Joomla etc.)
