Hi,
I didn't realize PHP could use a different handler itself.
This is very interesting / good news!
Thanks very much, this is a huge help.

Hi,
why not using memcached ?
You just have to install a memcached server and php-pecl-memcache. Then, in
your php.ini file, just replace these fields :
session.save_handler = memcache
session.save_path = "tcp://your_memcached_server.com:11211"
I'm using this solution, it works very well with owncloud.

Hi,
Are there any other options in Owncloud for sharing php session data
in
a load balanced setup - other than using shared storage?
i.e configuring owncloud to store sessions in the database (nasty) or
in
memcached?
I can make connections sticky to a backend server in the load
balancer -
but failover isn't very nice as all session data is lost. It would be
nice if owncloud had some way internally of handling sessions?
How are others managing this?
Thanks,
Kev
