Oy mate, pretty much every big linux-distribution has server-packages as well as client-packages in their repos. My ownCloud-Server runs on an ubuntu 14.04-server and I have multiple clients running various distributions (arch, fedora, ubuntu; on the top of my head) as clients - all work nicely.
