Hi mls!

This is unfortunate. Sorry for the path mismatch.

I haven't evaluated the owncloud package that comes with jessie.
But I do regular testing on the owncloud packages we build at opensuse.org

I'd recommend the packages from opensuse.org, but I am biased, as I maintain these.

Regarding the paths: I believe debian is correct in using /usr/share/owncloud -- I'd like to adopt that path with owncloud 8.0 -- so that the incompatibility goes away at some point of time.

cheers, JW-

Hi,

recently I upgraded my wheezy based owncloud server to jessie. owncloud on
wheezy was installed with the recommended owncloud packages from
download.opensuse.org. I expected that an upgrade does not touch owncloud. But
during the upgrade the owncloud package from the debian jessie repositories
was installed. When accessing owncloud now it asks me to create a new admin
account. The debian owncloud package stores the owncloud date in
/usr/share/owncloud/data/. The original owncloud package from the opensuse
repository at /var/www/owncloud.

What is the recommendation for jessie? Should owncloud be install from debian
repositories or from opensuse?

Thanks/regards,

mls
