yes. Those where enabled as a default in versions prior to OC8.
But you shouldn't get this issue with both apps if the upgrade manual here:

is followed. Especially the step which says that everything expect "config"
and "data" should be deleted.
That's great, except that when presented with a great big "upgrade now"
button, many (most?) people aren't going to go read the whole manual
upgrade procedure and then choose to do it because of something that
will work in the manual process that won't work in the automagical
process. I debated the manual process for all of 5 seconds before
deciding to go with the automatic one, and didn't read the manual
process documentation at all.
