I did it twice, no problem moving from a server to another with the same
instanceid

It should works. But keep in mind when you upgrade your copy, old
instance is still updated with new data, so upgraded copy missed these
data. If you do so, it is preferable to set old instance in maintenance
mode to avoid this.
