Using POI 3.6, Java 5

I have a spreadsheet that I need to squirt some values in, it has
workbook and worksheet protection turned on.

I'm a bit confused on the following points -

 1. I can't find anywhere how to unprotect a workbook using the POI API

 2. I can unprotect a worksheet WITHOUT having to know the password

I must surely have got both these wrong as surely there must be a way of
unprotecting a WB using POI and I can't believe you can unprotect any
worksheet without knowing the password - effectively making POI a great
hacking tool!

Any help would be appreciated

thanks in advance

Adrian
