Yeah, looking at the exception, it's complaining about a missing SAX parser 
method, likely employed as of 3.11.  SAX is included with Java 6 but perhaps 
your version of java is a bit old.  

This link indicates that Sun/Oracle 1.6.0_18 is required for support version 
POIs OOXML 3.9

We have been using 3.10 on the IBM and oracle JVM for some time, but I have not 
tried 3.9 or 3.11. Either way it looks like you should consider adding the 
latest PTF for Java to see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply Erick. I am replacing the 3.10 poi jars in 
/QIBM/Userdata/Java400/ext with the 3.11 versions as I have done when upgrading 
from previous versions. I do not have a folder /QOpenSys/Userdata/Java400/ext. 
I've been upgrading poi like this for a long time so am surprised to be having 
an issue this time. As you say, I know that things can be a little different in 
my environment.
