I'm not proposing anything different from what is already outlined by the wiki page. It says that the winner will need to submit a signed CLA.

I suppose there might have been confusion in the interpretation of the wiki page. You don't have to sign and fax a CLA in order to enter the contest, the selected winner will need to submit a signed CLA and it must be recorded by the ASF before we can *officially* declare him/her the winner. We need the source of the images in case we want to modify the colors or whatever. Preferably this will be a Photoshop file (.psd) or something that can be converted to it.

Sorry if that was confusing.

Dear Shale developers

I designed one of the logo suggestions, and as I understood it, only the winner would need to sign a Contributor License Agreement, which is why I have not taken the time to send you one. But the latest e-mail from Greg Reddin today talks about filtering out suggestions for which the contributor has not signed a CLA. Could you please be very clear on this matter: Do or do we not need to sign a CLA to participate?

I would hate for anyone to miss out simply because of a technicality. Don't worry. If you read the whole thread you'll see that James proposed another approach to the CLA requirement. Stay tuned for more clarification.

Thanks,
Greg
