The contribution mechanism of struts (as it comes out of the box) is much weaker that that of eclipse. The plugin model of eclipse looks more like a component model. That's what I want.

I really think that this has yet to be built, even if there are various frameworks that do this better or worse. If someone were to build this, they would, I am sure, have a blockbuster. That would be especially so if they could use the genius that has already gone into the core of Struts, AppFuse, etc. I would contribute daily to a team effort in this direction.
