Can you get rid of the usr/lib/locale directories in
system-data-timezone.p5m?
ouch. fixed
What package delivers the resulting .mo files?
/system/osnet/locale ATM. This will likely change, see below
At least in the IPS consolidation, we deliver .pot files to l10n in these
special packages, and they check in the localized .po files to our gate.
The build process converts those to .mo files, and we ship those.
That's where we (g11n) would like to get for all consolidations eventually, to get rid of the separate packages
delivering localizations.
There's an internal discussion going on about some process details and it's
likely to happen in the S11.2 timeframe.
Assuming this is for S12, the "0.5.11" version for both of these packages
is incorrect. It should probably be $(PKG_SOLARIS_VERSION).
both S12 and S11.2
fixed
(a side note: 5.11 is hardcoded in a lot of places in the repo)
Get rid of the description in the new package; it's not useful as it is,
and even less so in the context of an internal package. So are the
classification, and ARC info, but I don't know whether you can get rid of
them or not.
this would cause the below lint errors:
ERROR userland.manifest001.0 missing ARC data (org.opensolaris.arc-caseid)
ERROR pkglint.manifest010.2 Missing attribute 'pkg.summary' in
pkg://userland-localizable/system/data/timezone-message-files@0.5.12,5.11-5.12.0.0.0.3.0
WARNING opensolaris.manifest001.1 Missing attribute 'info.classification' in
pkg://userland-localizable/system/data/timezone-message-files@0.5.12,5.11-5.12.0.0.0.3.0
Would introducing pkglint exceptions be worth it?
refreshed webrev is at

Thanks!
