Hi tibi, IRC is a bit different type of interaction than a mail list--with pluses and minuses. You are right that there is currently no logging of the channel [something else I am working on ;)]. But on the plus side, it is often the back and forth spontaneity that is available on an IRC channel fosters discovery.
