Hi All,

I'm getting a LazyInitializationException in some of my Action tests and I'd
like to know whether there is something I'm doing wrong or whether I need
to implement one of the fixes I've found while Googling.

AFAICT, this problem was fixed for the Spring archetype of AppFuse 1.x
and 2.0-M2 via APF-537 (http://issues.appfuse.org/browse/APF-537). but
the BaseControllerTestCase class that the fix was applied to has since been
deleted and I'd assume that even if it hadn't, it'd not be available to me if
I'm
using the Struts2 archetype.

I'd have thought it would be appropriate to apply a similar type of fix to the
BaseActionTestCase that my ActionTests extend, but AFAICT, it hasn't
been done. Is there some reason for that other than that Matt (and
everyone else) hasn't had the need/time to do it? If people agree, I can
raise a Jira issue for it and maybe even have a go at doing the fix.

Finally, in hunting for a good generic solution for this problem, I came across
a very attractive sounding link on the following page:

http://raibledesigns.com/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=AppFuseSupport

(see #9 - Hibernate-specific questions - How do I fix a
LazyInitializationException in my unit tests?) but unfortunately, Karl Baum's
comments (http://www.jroller.com/page/kbaum/20040708) appear to have
vanished :-(

Any thoughts welcome,
