OK, I must be doing something basically wrong with the modular archetype or something like that. I put all the DAO and manager definitions that I developed using the tutorial as a guide in the applicationContext.xml file in core/src/main/resources. All the DAO and manager tests work fine with those. The applicationContext.xml file in WEB-INF (specifically web/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF) had no entires in it at all up till now but I threw in the PersonManager test definition as you suggested and fixed the package name to match mine but I got an exception running mvn jetty:run-war. Do I need to duplicate all the entries from the appContext file from core/src/main/resources or are those in the wrong place?
