We've modified the FreeMarker templates to put labels on top for usability reasons.

Using something like Uni-Form instead of forcing label placement might be a good idea.

Hi -
I'm starting with a fresh AppFuse2 install and am trying to figure out the
page layouts.

In form content (being rendered by the s:form tag), I would like the labels to appear on the left of the form fields. I am using the css_xhtml layout
templates.

The s:form doc says that using
   label="label.name"  labelposition="left"
will accomplish this.

I found that doing this caused bad HTML, which I corrected by modifying template/css_xhtml/controlheader.ftl to add the else block shown below,
around line 11:

<#if parameters.label?exists>
    <#if parameters.labelposition?default("top") == 'top'>
    <div <#rt/>
        <#else>
        <span <#rt/>
    </#if>

Does this appear to be a bug in the template to anyone else?

Fixing this did get the label on the left and the control (text, etc.) on the right, but it's not uniform. I want the form controls to be aligned
with each other. The HTML looks like

customer.firstName

Has anyone figured out how to achieve vertical alignment of labels- to-lables and controls-to-controls? I am otherwise (begrudgingly) switching to use
tables.
