AppFuse Light provides minimum integration b/w the frameworks and doesn't try
to do anything fancy. From appfuse-light.dev.java.net:

"I was inspired to create it while writing Spring Live and looking at the
struts-blank and webapp-minimal applications that ship with Struts and Spring,
respectively. These "starter" apps were not robust enough for me, and I wanted
something like AppFuse, only simpler."

AppFuse Light is done in Java, so I don't quite understand this question.

From the create-a-crud-app perspective, I think that JRuby on Rails, Grails and
Spring Roo are all great alternatives. From an open source project perspective,
they're much better because they have many more developers working on them.
However, they all require you to learn a new language (or annotations/aspects
in Spring Roo's) case. I'd look at this as an opportunity rather than a
deterrent though.

Hope this helps,

Matt
