As I understand it all the Avalon developers make big efforts to unify all the containers. So the best qualities of all of them can be mixed according to the actual needs of the user.
Does Loom now go in exactly the opposit direction? Does it have advantages, too?

Loom is a fork of the Phoenix codebase. It is starting where the CVS version of Phoenix is noe, and will likely take different evolutionary paths than the Avalon container.
