Hi My company intends to use avalon as ioc/soa framework/container. On one hand, the framework should be run in a j2ee container, on the other hand it should also be accessible by a standalone swing client. I have looked into various avalon-based projects, but since avalon is rather complex, nobody seems to be answering simple questions like: When do i use fortress, what is merlin. How can i build a small fortress based application.. E.t.c. I know, there's a few samples on the cvs repositories, but unfortunatly, i cannot access them through the corporate firewall (desperate enough, i even downloaded at home, but i couldn't get the examples to run/even build).
I'd be glad for a little bootstrap help. E.g. a sample webapplication that uses framework and fortress.
